kahuria blanket

This man-made fiber used in this blanket draws inspiration from the cloaks worn by the Maori chiefs, elders, and other respected members of the tribes.

Feathers were predominantly used for both form (beauty and texture) and function (warmth).  Cloaks were valuable as a key piece of clothing in winter as well as status symbol.

The kahuria range includes other items that can be viewed in the cushions and throws and treasure collections.
